What is QoderWork?

QoderWork is Alibaba's desktop AI agent: you describe a task in plain language, and it operates local apps on your behalf — file management, data analysis, document creation, and more. It's part of the Qoder family but a separate product from the Qoder coding CLI and IDE, and a separate product from QwenWork.

Vibe Island is an independent notch companion for QoderWork, not an Alibaba product. Install QoderWork, launch Vibe Island once, and the integration configures itself.

See the actual project, not a random ID

QoderWork sessions appear in the notch the moment they start, and the card shows the project you selected inside QoderWork — not an opaque internal token. Tool activity streams in as it happens, so you always know what QoderWork is working on.

Know when it needs you

When QoderWork needs your attention, the notch lets you know. You respond inside QoderWork itself — Vibe Island surfaces the moment so you never discover a stalled session ten minutes later.

Task completion notifications

When a QoderWork session finishes, Vibe Island sends a macOS notification. Click it to bring QoderWork to the front — no more checking back every few minutes to see if a task is done.

Zero config setup

Vibe Island auto-configures QoderWork on first launch. No manual editing, no API keys to wire up. Just install Vibe Island and start using QoderWork. Existing settings are preserved.

Run alongside other agents

Mix QoderWork with Claude Code, Codex CLI, ZCode, Gemini CLI, Antigravity CLI, Cursor Agent, Trae, OpenCode, MiMoCode, Factory Droid, Devin, Qoder, Qwen, QwenWork, Grok Build, Kimi Code, DeepSeek, DeepSeek Harness (DSH), Mistral Vibe, Copilot, CodeBuddy, WorkBuddy, Kiro, Hermes, Amp, Pi Agent, Oh My Pi, and Gajae Code. Every session appears in the same notch panel, so you can run multiple agents in parallel and monitor them at a glance.

Frequently asked questions

Is QoderWork the same as the Qoder coding CLI?

No. Qoder is Alibaba's coding CLI and IDE, tracked as its own Qoder integration. QoderWork is a separate desktop AI agent for general local tasks, with its own Vibe Island integration.

Is QoderWork the same as QwenWork?

No. Alibaba's China site lists QoderWork and QwenWork (千问办公) as two separate downloads, and Vibe Island tracks them as two separate integrations.
